Social Worker

Reports to, and receives assistance, from: Co-Principals and Vice Principal

The social worker is essential in supporting the foundation and its initiatives by working closely with families. They will act as a liaison between the foundation and the families to provide support with need-based scholarships. The social worker will understand the social context of families, conduct home visits, and handle the required documentation and communication internally and with the families. Additionally, they will evaluate diversity, equity, and inclusion structures in schools and classrooms and provide support as needed.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

Support with need-based scholarships:

Understanding the family socio-economic context.

Conduct home visits.

Handle documentation and communication.

Liaise with families to help build a rapport with the foundation.

Evaluate the needs of the families and touch base with families at regular intervals at different stages of the admission process.

Additional Responsibilities

Critically evaluate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) structures in the school and classrooms, and support as needed through classroom observations and participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) spaces.

In addition to the above, performing all those functions that might be necessary to ensure that the services of the foundation are of the nature and quality that will help fulfill its founding vision.

Collaboration and Communication:

Understand the foundation’s unique context and vertices through collaborative meetings, consultations, and classroom observations.

Collaborate with the leadership team and program coordinators.

Serve as a liaison between families and the foundation.

Serve as a liaison between the foundation and external agencies, as required.

Professionalism:

Remain actively engaged, supporting families and the foundation through the admissions and onboarding process.

Communicate clearly to all stakeholders.

Display a high standard of integrity and conduct while serving as a representative and ambassador for the foundation.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Social work is required. Master’s degree is preferred

Previous experience in the field of social work or work with non-profits is preferred
